Art courses with accommodation aboard sailing barge Wyvenhoe
A charter aboard Wyvenhoe is an ideal opportunity for artists and photographers to gain a unique perspective of the creeks and rivers of the Thames estuary.
Whether capturing the view from Wyvenhoe's deck as she navigates the scenic waters of the River Orwell approaching historic Pin Mill, for example, or taking boat trips to locations ashore, the Kent, Essex and Suffolk coasts offer a great creative opportunity for everyone that enjoys art, drawing or photography at any level.
We can host trips organised by art clubs and societies, and we can also arrange for professional tuition on our own art course charters.
We also work with Broadlands Art Centre who began doing art charters on Wyvenhoe 20 years ago.

BROADLAND ART CENTRE SAILING 2013
Four day day charter: Friday 23, Saturday 24, Sunday 25, and Monday 26 August 2013.
Starting from the old town of Faversham in Kent and returning there.
A unique sailing/painting experience comfortably accommodated aboard the well maintained and professionally skippered Thames Sailing Barge ‘Wyvenhoe’ which BAC has chartered many times over the past 20 years for our popular sailing/painting tutored cruises.
Experience the scenic delights and excitement of the East Anglian tidal estuaries and fishing and boating waterfront villages with their quaint pubs, salt marshes and sunken hulks …all ideal painting and drawing subjects.
The tutor is a professional watercolourist and illustrator and will ‘keep you on your toes’ providing lots of hints and tips to encourage lively, informative and memorable drawings and paintings from the decks or ashore using watercolour, pen and pencil.
A highlight of this holiday will be taking part in the Southend Barge Match, an annual traditional race between a number of similar barges and a truly wonderful sight. You will be torn between recording the scenes in sketch books or on camera, or just drinking in the scene.
Join in the fun and friendship with other like-minded artists and sailors in this small group of max 10 participants on this unusual, safe and fun holiday with a difference. No previous sailing, boating or painting experience necessary, just the determination to ‘have a go’. Suitable for all ages from 15 – 85 who are reasonably fit and agile.
Cost: £450 per head.
